Valencia finally got a win

Villarreal dropped spot 4 after two straight draws but they will be extra motivated in the local derby match against Valencia

Late last season Villarreal managed to reach positions in the table which would get them into Champions League. But they opened 2017 with two draws which saw them lose spot 4 to Atletico. There is no reason to panic, spot 4 is just 4 points away and they plan on staying in the race for it today. 

Soriano talked about the derby match:

- This is the first Valencia derby for me but I already had a lot derby matches in Italy. I know how much this kind of a win means to fans. This is more than just a game, no one wants to lose to local rivals. We played two draws but we are without fear today. We are all very motivated and we'll do our best.

Nicola Sansone and defender Costa are back on the team, which is great news. Soldado, Musacchop and Cerisev are still out with injuries, Cedric is at the Africa Cup of Nations. 

Valencia managed to get a win after quite a while. We finally saw a good performance by them. They beat Espanyol home and got away from the danger zone teams. They're not in the clear yet but the last win makes them believe better days are to come. 

Voro talked about his fears with the press:

- Everything about Villarreal scares me but their tough defense scares me most. They conceded very few goals and we need to display efficiency with the few chances we'll get. On the other hand, Villarreal are extremely powerful in offense too. A draw would not be a bad thing for us but we will not be happy with just one point. We want to look for a win in Villlarreal.

Center back Mangala is back after a suspension to take his center back spot alongside Garay. Nani had some injury struggles over the week but he will be ready to play. Santos, Moreno and Ryan are still out, Abdennour is at Africa Cup of Nations.
