Fiorentina and Torino in a crisis

Both teams are well behind their goal (spot 6), which would see them get in European spots

Fiorentina and Torino's goal in Serie A was the race for European spots but they are currently rather short of spot 6 and don't really have much hope in playing European competitions next season. Fiorentina got knocked out of Europa League on Thursday after allowing Borussia Monchengladbach an incredible comeback in Florence. They beat Fiorentina in Germany as Bernadeschi scored early on. Kalinic and Borja Valero got them the lead early on in the second leg but the team went on to concede 4 goals later on. The fans are unhappy with the results so far as it it but they've now had it. They showed up at the training center demanding coach Sousa and club owner Della Valle to leave.

Paulo Sousa talked about the current situation at the club:

- We grew a lot when it comes to character and personality but we can still do that. Everyone needs to grow in a problematic situation. We have a chance to do that against Torino. We are all responsible for what happened, especially me. We are disappointed and we haven't work hard enough. We are sorry to have disappointed our fans. We are all pros and we'll try and use the chance to get back to winning against Torino. This is the toughest moment I've had since getting here. Leaving? I see problems as an opportunity and that is why I've never thought about leaving. 

Paulo Sousa talked about their next opponents:

- We prepared the game to get three points. Torino are very well-organized, they defend well and score goals because they have good-quality forwards.

Bad news for Sousa is that key offense player Bernadeschi got injured and might miss this game. Left back Milic recently broke his nose but he will wear a protective mask. Paulo Sousa will go with the 3-4-2-1 formation. Ilicic and Saponara are in race for Bernadeschi's position. 

Torino opened the season brilliantly but they suffered a decline in form over the past three months. In December, January and February, Torino played 12 games and beat only Genoa and bottom-table Pescara. The dream of a new season in Europe will stay just a dream for Torino fans. Additional problem for Mihajlovic is bad atmosphere on the team. They were horribly in defense last round at Olimpico and that is precisely what Mihajlovic needs to work a lot on the rest of the season.

He decided to give a piece of his mind to Italian journalists:

- I want to analyze things first. I've been reading a lot of bad things about Torino lately. It seems like we're doing nothing but bad things. Regardless of it all, we are still having one of our best seasons. We have three points more than at this point last season and we want to make progress. This team was made to attack. We need to keep on working hard to our shortcomings but the club and team are one. 

Mihajlovic knows he is to have a tough task in Florence:

- I expect them to be angry and motivated to get back to us for the first game of the season. They suffered a bad blow on Thursday. We have many options in offense but we have some problems in defense and midfield. Regardless of that, I'm sure that we'll do our best. We need to be very careful in defense. 

Center backs Rossettini,  Castan and Carlao are injured and since Ajeti didn't do great in the last few games, right back De Silvestri is expected to start alongside Miretti at center back position. Mihajlovic cannot count on midfielder Obi either. Lukic is expected to start instead of him. We need to see who will play alongside Belotti and Falque in offense since Boye, Ljajic, Iturbe and Maxi Lopez all hope for the start.
