    The first set against Mestach has shown how focused and determined Agnieszka is to play at the highest level here. Agnieszka had made some mistakes, several bad reactions and evaluations, but her body language after them was amazing. She was angry with herself, at one point the racquet was thrown to the floor, which says enough. She is focused from the first to the last ball, she is going after every ball and there is no lost point for her. With this approach and attitude, Koukalova doesn't have a lot of chance today. After June last year, Koukalova put together some wins. Truth be told, she didn't play badly, even Agnieszka admitted that, her opponents take credit for that. Angnieszka is a completely different world, for Koukalova, even for Zvonareva, and Martic, especially here in Katowice. Details

    I said it a few times that Lille had a turning point during the winter break when coach Neno Asceric took over. They got the defense level up to become the best defense in the league at the moment. In 12 games since Asceric took over, they conceded over 71 points in regulation time only once and had an over at this margin only once in regulation time in 12 games (83 points to Poitiers). Aix play more games with higher number of points but they also improved on the defensive end since the new coach took over. Aix conceded more than 77 points only once and more than 75 only 4 times in 12 games since then. They lost all those games...Aix are in dire need of a win, Lille aren't so desperate but the win today would almost certainly see Lille avoid relegation. I don't think this can go at 150 or more points because it's so important and both teams are so good in defense. Forget the first head-to- head that finished with 167 points. Lille score 100 back then but they no longer play that offense-oriented game anymore. Aix improved defense as well since then. Details

    The first thing that comes to mind when I see Denain is tough defense. They are one of top league teams when it comes to that aspect, allowing 71.4 points per game. Hyeres played all kind of games this season but defense is something they focus more and more now that the close race for top spot with Monaco is getting more serious. Their coach Legname is not keen on offense but rather relies on tough and aggressive defense. Hyeres allow 72.6 points per game, which is only a tad more than their opponents Denain. The first h2h fibarely went over 120 and I don't expect high productivity today either becasue of game styles of both teams and the motivation. Denain are in race for one of top 5 spots and the home court advantage in the playoff while Hyeres want direct promotion to top league. Denian have 7 straight unders at this margin in regulation time and almost stayed under with Roanne despite the 5-minute overtime. Hyeres's record isn't as clean (4 out of 8 unders at this margin, with one game at 149 points) but their overs were against fast and efficient teams, Nantes, where the conceded 83 and Monaco (finished at 149). There are too many arguments for an under and I don't want to miss out on it. Details

    By watching both players in the first two rounds of Charleston I can easily conclude that Keys is playing at a much higher level. Lauren had more luck and she hasn't showed much of quality tennis, because she defeated bad Min in the first round, and catastrophic Bouchard in the second, who seems to be enjoying sabotaging herself and losing. Keys is very convincing on her serve, conditions here suit her and she should win by six or more games.
    Regardles of the fact that these players know each other well, they are in a state of war when they get out on the court - which was best demonstrated by Keys in Eastbourne last year. I expect a similar outcome today as well, any other result would be surprising. Keys is superior in every part of the game and it will all depend on her and her interest, which is, based on her attitude in the previous two matches, at a very high level. Details

    I cannot ignore what Kulichkova did in the first two matches here. Her serve, which is powerful and efficient, and shots that make the difference left Urszula and Kanepi without a chance. Kulichkova destroyed them, not backing down from her game for a second throughout those matches. Giorgi has similar game style but still struggled greatly with Allertova in the end. I think Kuliichkova is one level above Allertova and has more experience. Giorgi is in for a tough task. I don't think there is a single segment in which Girogi could outplay the opponent today. Kulichkova is still a mystery to must players but not for long. Details

    USK Prague are the host of the Euroleague Final Four and the home team know well that this is their chance for a great result. The situation is similar with Fenerbahce who have lost in the final in the last two seasons. This is the semi-final and we can expect a fighting game. Fener are defensively the best Euroleague team and they concede around 60 points on average with which they compensate for the problems in the offense. USK is more focused on the offense, but the quarter-final series against Avenida showed the meaning of elimination games, as well as the meaning of the regular season. Against Avenida, the team from Prague conceded 43 and 48 points. Fener was, on the other hand, brilliant defensively in three games against Galatasaray, and they haven't concedd more than 59 points, but they also haven't scored more than 63. USK is a very tall team, but Fener have two meters tall centers and that will cause problems for the home team. USK lost their important shooter Viteckova due to pregnancy, and Fener lost maybe even more important player, McCoughtry. This is one of those tense games where you can expect a lot of fighting spirit, which was already seen in the quarter-final matches, and when you count in the nerves, I find it hard to expect that they will come close to the limit of 130 points.     The decision to leave two top players in Novgorod makes it very clear what Bagatski's priority is at the moment. That's only logical because the game with Zenit will probably be the key one in the race for home court advantage in VTB league QFs. Since they meet Zenit in only two days, I wouldn't be surprised if Parahouski and Thompkins spend less time in the game today. Oly are still without Spanoulis but they already got used to playing without him. Olypmiacos are safe in spot three and this game is not relevant to their either. That is the only reason I'm going with smaller stakes even though I'm sure they'll take this game much more seriously. The coach said it's like playoffs for them and he will not allow his players to take it lightly. This is the last check they'll have before the clashed with Barcelona and finally, they are playing home, which is why they want to win. Even if the coach starts making changes, he's got 10 equality good players to count on, which is not the case at Nizhny. Without two top players who combine 33 points on average Nizhny's game loses quality. They will not be able to stand to Oly like that. Oly are tough enough to stand up even to those top players in the key. I'm going with smaller stake only because this is an insignificant game result-wise even though I'm pretty sure Oly will take it very seriously to record a double-digit win. Details

    Huta won a title here before and definitely does his best in these conditions. Neither player had a good start to the season, but the Dutchman displayed good quality a few times (got a set against Wawinka) and I'm sure he would have had at least one good result indoors had it not been for heath problems. He is now fit and ready and already dealt with opponents much better than Sugita easily here. The Japanese took advantage of the situation that presented itself to tie two challenger wins for the second time in the 9th attempt this season. I think this will be the end of the road for him and that quality and potential of the Dutchman will settle this match into his favor. Details

    Even though Isner started later than other in Houston, he is not the kind of a player capable of making a smooth transition. He's had great matches in Indian Wells and Miami, having played what might have been his best match ever against Nishikori. He was a tough opponent for Djokovic both times but everything starts over now. He won Houston once and reached the final before it. He was under this margin only once in his 7 matches here (the first one). It was at 21 games against Zeballos, who forced him into the second set the other time. He didn't allow Smyczek to get any break points, while having 15 such opportunities. He was tough and aggressive, which is what I expect today as well. He knows how to play Isner. Their match in Madrid last season finished with a single break point. Before that, the one in Delray Beach finished with a very long third set tie-break. Everything says the games over will be the outcome here. A margin this low at Isner cannot be missed out on. Especially because he just changed surfaces, which causes players like him trouble with return. His serves are dangerous at an surface, that doesn't change. Details
