    Liverpool are back in the Champions League after five years. Even though the magic of Luis Suarez is gone and the start of the new season has been marked with fluctuations, this is a start of new competition they've been waiting for and they have the motivation and the right opponents. The Bulgarian team from Razgrad got their debut with a minor miracle against Partizan and Steaua and will probably end their competition here as well as Real Madrid, Liverpool and Basel are simply too much for Ludogorets, despite their success in Europa League last season. Liverpool have announced a full-scale pressure from the start and they won 16 out of 19 home games by playing like that last season. They were the better team at the end of first half in 15 games and scored 34 goals in the first 45 minutes.
    We mention this because we chose the option "the hosts to score 2 or more goals in the first half" for this bet, since it has the highest and still very realistic odds as the Reds will attack with full force and try to settle the game as soon as possible, while the visitors might succumb to the pressure of the atmosphere they've never seen before.
    It's also important to note that Ludogorets are missing their first two keepers and will use Borjan, the man who signed for them 2 days ago and had as many training sessions wit the team. Whoever thinks this is too risky can go for the handicap on the home team but the only handicap with a value is 3 or more goals, while Ludogorets scoring a goal is also a decent option at about 2.00, considering the possible errors from Liverpool defenders.     The WC is drawing to a close and the problems for France are starting. They have played great so far and have lost only 2 games (Italy Poland), both after five sets and they seem to be doing well in this respect. The Germans also have only 2 defeats - against Russia and Brazil. But there's a difference between these two teams. This is the third week, the players are worn out and the Frenchmen are changing the venue for the third time. They started their second round in Bydgoszcz, then they played in Lodz while they will play the third round in Katowice, while the Germans have played all 3 rounds in Katowice. France struggled against Serbia and the question is what might have happened had the referees not given them the point to make it 1-1., while in the game against Poland, a 3-2 win for the Poles worked well for both teams, so I won't take this game as a measure of things. France beat Germany in 3 out of 4 World League matches and it seems the bookies were led by those matches when they created the odds for today but Germany were without Grozer and Gunthor then, while Kaliberda had just recovered and was mostly a reserve player, while Heynen tried out various tactical ideas for the WC. France had the same squad as here, and the Germans still managed to take a set in 2 games and even won 1 match. France are not too stable, just remember their final of the World League and defeat against Australia. Today, they are the favorites, and this has never been their forte, while Germany's style shouldn't suit them. The Germans are psychologically a stronger team. Grozer and Kaliberda are in great form, they're playing at home and everything speaks in their favor. France are the favorites but not such favorites as the odds show. Details

The French left a very good impression, but Heynen had the opportunity to get to know they well in World League, while at the same time hiding his tactics.     Even though both are coming back after DC obligations, they are in different rhythms. Seppi had away matches in Switzerland where the hosts had conditions similar to these, even faster. The Italian is fresh as he plaed only one unimportant match on Sunday. The Netherlands hosted Croatia on very slow clay, which is something Sijsling complained about. His coach complained about his weak performance and that's why he didn't play on Sunday. He had a set and a break against a replacement (Delić) and ended up losing after 4 sets. He has very little confidence and will have no time to adapt after playing on clay for the past 2 weeks. He's simply without any confidence. The Dutch journalists have killed him off with comments about his fitness, even his back injury. If nothing else, Seppi knows how to make use of his opponents' weaknesses. He played the finals here two years ago. He knows how to use these conditions, he's been training for faster conditions for the past 10 days and everything speaks in his favor. Details

    I've been following Kirilenko in the last four tournaments she did. I decided to bet against her three times because of all the problems she's been having this season. I know exactly what kind of situation she's in but...she didn't do badly against Sharapova. Sharapova later said she's happy Kirilenko is able to play well again. I think, having seen her most recent matches (Barthel,Stepehens,Peng,Sharapova) that her game is improving. I daresay it was even better than Sharapova's in their head-to-head match. But because of all the problems she's been having, the book makers are underestimating her today. Her opponent Vekic has been doing really badly. Her problems are not injuries - her game is just bad. She fired the coach she's been working with since she was 11 and I feel like she's completely lost at the moment. Most players she's been losing to in the last month are not better even than Kirilenko at this point. What I'm trying to say is that I know this bet is not perfect. Kirilenko did only 8 matches this year but from my point of view, she's getting better. She will be participating in doubles tournament here, clearly trying to get as many matches as possible. I think she's better than he results would suggest, and Vekić has really been doing badly. Details
