Flensburg played the championship really badly, Friesenheim won three in a row

Vranješ's team were going down after 42 minutes against Wetzlar, but managed to get a point. Friesenheim joined the survival fight with three wins in a row, and come feeling very self-confident

Flensburg have a good rhythm. In the last 40 days, they only lost to Barcelona, and on Sunday, they took one step back in the fight for the title. Wetzlar are one of the teams they usually deal with quite easily, and Flensburg only managed to get one point on Sunday, losing step with Kiel and Löwen who are now five points ahead. Kiel played one game more, and Löwen two more than Flensburg. Those small games could be crucial in the end, and lost points are hard to make up for. 

Vranješ's team can be satisfied with that one point even, considering how the game was played. Flensburg were never in the lead, played 40 minutes disastrously, and were six goals behind (12-18). In the end, they tightened their defense, got some easy goals and managed to save themselves from Wetzlar's last attempt to get two points. 

- This was more than an aggressive handball, but we showed character and we can be satisfied in the end - Mogensen admitted. 

Friesenheim are their chance to make up, and take one step towards the Cup final. In the competition so far, Flensburg played one of the best games of the season, and completely crushed Melsungen. They looked very well offensively in those last weeks, and after that segment failed against Wetzlar, it'll be interesting to see how they will react. We can expect Vranješ to use tough defense and create basis for easy goals from the counter attacks. They used this to solve the games before, only three days before the big duel against Kiel. 

- Friesenheim won the last three games, so our team have to do their best to take one step towards the Final Four - the director Schmäschke said.

Flensburg will be without Gottfridsson and Heinl who ended up in a hospital because of a viral infection. 

Nobody thought we'd see Friesenheim in the elite rank a few weeks ago, but the first league rookie won three championship games in a row and completely joined the fight to stay in the league. Erlangen, the first team out of the relegation zone, are one point ahead, but also have one game played more. Erlangen were the last Friesenheim's victim, and König's team showed big self-confidence when they turned the result over in the last minutes. Friesenheim were losing most of the game, they had -3 (21-24) eight minutes before the end, but made a 6-2 series and got points that are worth gold. 

- There's not much to say for games like these. If a few things were different, we'd have lost, so I'm really happy - König said.

So, Friesenheim boosted their self-confidence and now come to face Flensburg. They'll try to create another sensation, but that's not likely to happen. They resisted very well in the championship match at the beginning of the season, and the goalie Klier had a great day. He should be out today, as should Philip Grimm. They'll need the defense they had in the previous games, because they can hardly complicate this game unless they leave Vranješ's team under 30 goals.
