Europe's champion got hit hard last week against CSKA in front of their fans. Except for redemption, they're looking for a win for Top 16 and seem to be very motivated. Power forward Randle is also back

Maccabi are close to securing the Top 16, but after the fiasco against CSKA (who played without Teodosic), the Israelis are cautious.

- We have to win this match, it's very important to us. We are playing against a tough team who are in a good shape and I expect a tough fight. The Germans are very aggressive throughout the match, they're going hard on the offensive rebound. Prior to the first match in Berlin I asked the players to level with their intensity - said coach Goodes, whose team responded well after CSKA.

They beat Bnei Herzelia 89-73. Goodes returned Parg into the five, but he played paired with Ohayon, which means Haynes was left on the bench. Will that be the case today, we've yet to find out. Pargo continued like this in critical issues and in 30 minutes he has 5/13. In Israel in the last five matches he couldn't score 11 points. Against CSKA last week it was 2/10, one round earlier against Limoges 4/11, against Unicaja 4/13...

- It's not important how we do it, it's important to make it to and ensure the Top 16 - Goodes is clear.

- I've seen a lot of ALBA matches and what characterizes them the most in aggressiveness. It's hard to play against them and I'm sure they will be better prepared. Sacrifice, will and heart are the names of today's match. Alba don't have a single star, everyone shares the load. They have enough backs to make a lot of damage.

Regarding their team, the biggest news is the return of power forward Randle who has, in 12 minutes against Bnei, scored nine points.

- Devin Smith played a lot recently, and that's something we didn't want, but we needed - said Goodes, and that was the result of Pnini's injury (out until the end of the season) and Randle, who returned on the team.

Maric wasn't playing against Bnei, but today he will be on the team, although hardly with a key role since Goodes mostly uses Tyus, Sofoklis and Randle in the paint.

Alba lost the last eight matches against Maccabi. Today's wouldn't hit the Berliners too hard. Each defeat hurts, but the guests have a clear vision. They will look for a way to the Top 16 over Limoges and Cedevita. Today they have little to lose and a lot to gain. Redding-Radosevic-McLean trio played a very good game against the Israeli the first time, but the rest of the team didn't. Their three-point shot was especially desperate (3/24).

- In the first meeting we didn't do a good job on Maccabi's match-up zone defense. They gave us a lot of open shots, but we missed them all. After last wins, we have to approach this game differently - said coach Sasa Obradovic, and center Leon Radosevic added:

- In the first match in Berlin Maccabi hit them all, and we missed everything. I hope the match in Tel Aviv will be different. Cedevita have shown that they can be beaten at home. We're not heading there with a white flag, but after a win which would be a huge step towards the second round.

Alba continued their dominance in the Bundesliga where they remain undefeated after 10 rounds. Their biggest challenge could've been Oldenburg on Sunday. It was hard, but they scored over 90 points against such a hard team, and were very calm in the stressful finale. Renfroe played the game of the season. He scored 18 points, McLean added 14 and eight rebounds. Redding 13 points, Radosevic 13 and nine rebounds... Banic was also good.

Maccabi could pay more attention to Germans' outside shooting. Alba is the most precise in the Bundesleague in the three-point shot, and against Oldenburg behind the 6,75 m line they were successful in nine out of 13 tries (69.2%).
