Edmonton on a 10-game losing run

Edmonton are the worst team in the league when it comes to almost all aspects of the game, starting with the form. Winnipeg have done much better this season and currently hold one of the spots in the play-off zone. Their in fine form and interestingly, conceded 30 goals less than Edmonton so far

Winnipeg Jets have gotten back to what they do best the last few games - defending. And it didn't take long for the results to follow. The win in Buffalo is, truth be told, not the greatest of achievements, but the point they got in Boston certainly is.

The Jets took the lead late in the first period as Byfuglien scored on power play. Boston scored an equalized early in the third period to force over time. The Jets didn't do their best in that period, but they have to be happy with the final score.

- Playing Rask was great. I was hoping to get a chance for it ever since I got drafted - Winnipeg's goalie Michal Hutchinson said.

Jets are now to play three consecutive home games, the first one against the worst performing team in the league - Edmonton. The goals are clear and the Jets are interested in the win only.

They will have to do without defenseman Tobias Enstrom only. 

Edmonton are on a ten-game losing run. There is not other way to start the story of this team. They are doing horribly and have already effectively ruined their chances this season. The same has been happening for a few years now as Edmonton spends their season bottom table, watching how other teams fight for the play-off. This season is no different. 

A point against the Blues and then Nashville seemed to be a sign of progress at Edmonton, but they then went back home to concede five goals and lose to Arizona convincingly. The Oilers were expected to display better game, what with Arizona doing badly this season we well. But, Edmonton stood no chance even against such a poor-performing team. They opened the game well, taking the lead in the first period to go on and concede two with an extra player in the second period, which settled the game.

- No one will take pity on you because you're on a 10-game losing streak. We have only ourselves to count on in ending that run. It's tough and painful, but we can't just stand feeling sorry for ourselves - coach Eakins said.

Edmonton are already 7 points short of Arizona. The Jets have been doing much better than the visitors this season, especially in defense (conceded 30 goals less so far). The Oilers concede 3.5 goals per game, which is the worst average in the league.

They are without the important forward Hendricks and Pouliot, which is another thing that is not helping their poor performances.
