Fronckowiak: We need to start wondering what is happening

Lokomotiv recorded two back-to-back wins after two consecutive defeats, with the Champions League match with Jastrzebski putting the glory of the 'Siberian Express' on full display

Dynamo have never had such a powerful team since playing the Superliga, but the results do not correspond to their quality. They won only 6 out of the last 12 matches, which is not a reflection of either their quality or the experience this team possesses. The fact reception is the weakest link in their game is truly amazing, given the players Marcelo Fronckowiak has at his disposal. Yudin, Panteleymonenko, Zhillin and libero Sokolov are all great, well-experienced players, but they, just like middle blockers Krivets, Krikun and Chaus, aren't living up to the expectations.

- To win with 10 or so errors at reception, with 15% of perfect reception and two-three blocks per match is impossible. We need to wonder what's happening because this team has the potential to be one of top three or four teams in Russia, but instead, we're not even in the play-off zone - Fronckowiak said.

They lost the last match on account of poor blocking and reception. The latter is the main requirement for a good result, but it is at the same time Dynamo's greatest problem. The top-quality of setter Marlon is thus lost because of the bad reception.

Dynamo lost all of their head-to-head matches with top teams and we can only wonder if there's anything they can be optimistic about at this point.

- I hope the players find mental strength for the Lokomotiv match. We won't do well if we don't play good reception and good blocking. Lokomotiv have excellent serving and spikers - Dynamo's coach said.

Unlike Dynamo, Lokomotiv are getting better, having recorded two convincing back-to-back wins. The win over Grozny was expected, but the convincing manner in which they crushed Jastrzebski home was impressive. They lost the first set after missing out on the three-point lead in the very end, but went on to win the Polish team easily.

- This is the best proof of how good our game can get when we are motivated. That is precisely what we lacked the last few matches. We need to keep both our feet on the ground  because we play Dynamo next Saturday - Voronkov said.

The match in Krasnodar will be a chance for Denis Zemchenok to see some of his old friends. He has made a name for himself in Dynamo and then left to join Lokomotiv last summer.

- Dynamo are a good that struggle at the moment. But, they have the quality to beat any team in the league and that's a fact. We improved our game and the win in Poland makes us optimistic about the match on Saturday -Zemchenok said.
