Fuchse have often played hot matches against Melsungen, with a lot of physical, rough contacts

For years it didn't happen that Fuchse after 10 rounds have the same or less wins than defeats. This season is different, however, in Berlin the team is weaker, the injuries are numerous and that is being reflected on the charts. With ten points from ten rounds, Fuchse is placed 10th. The Berliners didn't win against anyone in three rounds, although they did play a draw against Wetzlar, and the same happened in a home game against Erlangen. In Wetzlar they spilled the enormous 17-11.

Returning to winning, which is always the best medication for self-esteem, happened on Wednesday in Essen in the second round of the cup. They won against the host team with 29-21, but what's far more valuable for coach Sigurdsson is the return of the left back Pavel Horak. The Czech payed only defense, but currently each player means a lot to them.

- I can only play the defense because I would put too much stress on my elbow in shots - explained Horak.


- I was quite nervouse because I didn't know how much I would be able to help the team after such a long break. I was afraid of failure.

Konstantin Igropulo took the lead with five shots, which is also good news because the Russian has been one of the members who failed the most so far. What's tightly connected to the fact that in Berlin, at the beginning of the season, they decided to push the young Wiede and Drux.

The defense specialist Kasper Nielsen didn't play in the Cup, but he is expected to perform today. Loffler, Jaszka and Spoljaric are still out.

- We want to go on a break with a win and finally play a true game in front of our fans - announced Igropulo.

In last three home matches, aganst Erlangen, Kiel and Hannover, they scored only a single point.

- Everything except the win can't be crucial. There are a lot of reasons why we can't catch a break now, but we can get out of this situation only as a team. We've talked a lot because of that. We played good handball against Essen, that was good for our minds - these are the thoughts of Silvio Heinevetter.

They have often played hot matches against Melsungen, with a lot of phsyical, rough contacts. We still remember the clashes against Wetzlar for whom the brothers Muller were playing - now important players of Melsungen.

- They are good boys - said Heinvetter, with an important addition...

- Outside of the court, I mean.

Melsungen, besides having the same number of points as Fuchse, have something else in common with the Berliners. They were both failing hard up until now. Melsungen were heavily defeated against Flensburg on Wednesday; they lost with 16 points of difference and were throw out of the Cup, in which last season they've played the Final Four against none other than Fuchse (28-30).

- We're still not a top team - coach Roth was disappointed after the fiasco.

They tried to play a 5-1 defense in order to stop Glandorf, but that's worth nothing since there was no offense. Vuckovic and Fahlgren don't look good in the center, there's no real game organization, and the defense is far from what it was last year.

- After an acceptable first halftime, the second one was a catastrophe. Because of that we had an open and self-critical discussion in the locker room. Of course we can lose from such a strong team, but each of us needs to ask ourselves if we'd given 100%. I think we can't all answer positively on that one - said Nenad Vuckovic.

- Because of numerous undisciplined offenses, we received goals from counter-attacks and after the match I said a couple of very clear words to my players. We have to react accordingly against Fuchse - Roth was harsh, and he didn't want to reveal what he said to the players.

After everything today the result is not so important. Melsungen are determined to show the real reaction, compete against Fuchse with a fighting stand with whom they can really play this season.
